An innovative
public interest law
firm specializing in health law and child welfare matters.
Healthy, happy children and families are more than an ideal; they are our mission.
Let us help you make that ideal into a reality.
Founding partners Cristina Freitas and Debbie Freitas joined the CPCS Children and Family Law Trial Panel in November 2010. Freitas & Freitas is proud to serve our state's indigent families.
The upcoming Winter volume of the Journal of Law and Family Studies will feature an article on Guardian ad Litem practice partially authored by our firm partners.
We understand that when your children or family are involved with the court system, your life can become chaotic and confusing. Each of our attorneys takes the time to make sure you understand the court process and to keep you updated regarding the progress of your case, step by step. Your children and family are important to you and they are important to us.
Guardian ad Litem Appointments
Our attorneys have worked on guardian ad litem cases in the juvenile and probate/family courts in Norfolk, Suffolk, and Middlesex counties working on subject matters ranging from placement, custody and visitation to special education. We work hard to complete thorough investigations, conduct thoughtful interviews, and craft practical recommendations in the minor/ward's best interest.
Child Welfare Cases
Care and protection, termination of parental rights, and children in need of services (CHINS) proceedings are serious matters with permanent implications. We are zealous advocates committed to serving your needs --whether that means advocating for new services or resources, a safety plan, a new placement, or helping protect your most valuable asset: your family.
